Anybody got a back I can borrow?

I have had a bulging disk in my back for years.  Something bad has happened to it.

My feet are tingling and fall asleep often.  Saw a Doc on Saturday that thinks I may need intervention.  He gave me a shot of antiinflamatory and steroid.  Got the pain meds, have had them for years.  He also gave me a muscle relaxer to keep me from getting deformed giving into the pain.

I see a pain doc on Thursday and the PCP is sending me to a Neurosurgeon.

I guess I should take this seriously, huh?  Best part is I have slept really good lately.

Will keep you posted.  Send up a prayer, or just send over that loaner back!

YIKES! I went through that 4 years ago, ended up having injections and consequently had Radiofrequency (RF) annuloplasty which has been a blessing.  I still have some problems when I walk on uneven surfaces for long periods of time, but it worked for me.  I hope that you get some relief soon, I can really sympathize with you (even though I know that doesn't really help much).  Good Luck!!!

Hugs, Mari

My guess is that your back will insist that you take
it serious and nag you until you cry uncle.
So sorry this is the last thing that you need.
Praying for you.

So sorry to hear this Que.  I'd lend ya mine but with 3 herniated discs you probably don't want mine either.  Luckily, mine haven't bothered me too much since i lost the weight but the simplest thing will set it off.  Thank God for my chiropractor.  He's managed to keep me away from the surgeon many times over.  It's a shame you're so far away cuz my hot tub is so helpful when mine's acting up.

One quick exercise I learned years ago really helps when mine is "out".  Lie flat on your stomach on the floor (with your arms at your sides) for 2-3 minutes.  Then raise up on your forearms/elbows for 2-3 minutes, then push up with your hands with your elbows locked until you're arching your back.  That helps the disc to slide back in.  Do it as often as you can until the pain is better.   Hope it helps.  Regardless, I got ya in my prayers.

I'm right there with ya. I have herniated discs and/or arthritis in 3 places on my spine. My chiropractor has saved me from the knife more than once over the years. Every medical Dr. I've been too just wanted to prescribe pain meds and surgery.

Should I send over some of Bryan's miracle healing roast? I hear it'll fix you right up!
I do hope you get to see the doc sooner than Thursday- do they have where they'll call you if they have a cancellation or anything? I am keeping you in prayers.

Geez, mama Que, just in case you need more stress, huh?
Hopefully they can get you all fixed up without major intervention.

Love ya!
Rachel
