Back from the Dr...not good--Updated

Dr Hardy (my PCP) does believe I have an ulcer at the early stages.  Damn!  Excuse my language but I am NOT happy...very down at the moment in fact.  She doesn't see the need for a scope just yet but she is contacting my insurance co to see what can & can't be done.  She sent me to the lab for an H Pylori test--had to breathe into a bag, drink some stuff (that KILLED my pouch) and then 15 minutes later had to breathe into the bag again.  I am also starting on Omerprazole now along with the OTC antacide just through the weekend & then next week just the Omerprazole.  We'll see how this goes & work from there.

Needless to say...I didn't go shopping yet.  Need to think.  Love you all,

Jeri

***So the drs office just called.  The H Pylori test is positive.  No dietary restrictions as of yet & no scope yet...she's sending HEB 2 more RXs.  Will follow up with her after meds are taken for a bit & see how it's going.  There goes my shoe $$$.  LOL

Jeri look at the glass 1/2 full instead of 1/2 empty...at least it's probably in the EARLY stages.  Those can be treated fairly easily.  My doctor has had me on that medicine since the day I had surgery specifically to prevent ulcers.  You're gonna be just fine, now go shopping and do something just for YOU.  Worrying doesn't help matters.

Hey Jeri!  Sorry to hear the news from the doc, but I am glad it sounds like you caught it early.  Hopefully the meds will kick it's little butt and you'll be back to normal in no time.  Do go ahead and go shopping.  Do something good for you!  You might not feel 100% better, but it will help your mood to do something nice for yourself.

Hugs!

Jeri,

Recently flipping through Dr. Davis' book, I saw in there where he put:

"If you smoke, you will get an ulcer. Period."

I don't know where you are at on your smoking or trying to quit smoking, but maybe this will give you a little extra nudge to quit.

Hope you feel better soon.

Still fighting the smoking demon but I also started Chantix today to win.   Nothing else works for me I keep trying & losing, trying & losing.  I took Chantix before & quit for a year.

I've never smoked, but have known many that have fought the hard fight. I faith in you! YOU CAN DO IT! Now if I can get the coffee monkey off my back! Think they make a pill for that? I bet someone would be rich if they invented one.
