Just an FYI honey, smoking and caffiene are both BAD for an ulcer :(.  I am seriously considering trying Chantix also.  I need to make an appt with my PCP for labs and will discuss it with him.  Since my new insurance is so much better, I think the most it would cost for the Chantix is $50 and it would be worth it if it helped.

My sister is a H pyolori carrier but has never had an ulcer.

The Chantix cost me $146 & it's a month's supply.  BUT cigarettes cost me way more than that per month.  Chantix isn't covered by my insurance but it's well worth the cost.

From what I read online about H Pylori we all have it in our stomachs, we just all don't get ulcers.  It's a bacteria we all carry.

Jeri

Jeri,

I hope you feel better soon!

I have two sides to my brain - a right side and a left side.  The trouble is sometimes there is nothing left in the right side and nothing right in the left side.

Jeri, I know this isn't what you wanted to hear but look at it as you were proactive and are going to take meds to keep it in check.  Ulcers can happen to ANYONE, not just WLS.

Did she give you a specific diet to follow?

Hey Dana.  I have no doubt with all the stress I've been under this past year I would have gotten this ulcer WLS or not.  Stress is a killer as you know...

No dietary restrictions as of yet.

Hugs,

Jeri

So sorry you were diagnosed with an ulcer.  You'll have to very diligent in following doctors orders to keep it under control.  But hey,  you can do this.  Now go have some fun!!!
Blessings,
