Update on my Mom

Thanks so much for all the prayers and well wishes.  I'm happy to report that Mom is safe but rather cold.  My sister made it there about 5:30 tonight.  The roads were all icy and snow covered and Mom's phone and electric lines were lying arcoss the road in front of her house.  Luckily, she got her gas fireplace going so had some heat.  She had 4 heavy quilts over her bed and was wearing 4 layers of clothing when my sister arrived.  My sister said they all are sitting on the fireplace hearth trying to stay warm cuz the house is still very cold.  They are headed to Texas about 9 am tomorrow and Mom will stay with us for a couple of weeks.  Again, thanks for being there for me.

Thank goodness!!!! I've been worried all day about her after hearing that news story about that elderly man that passed away in his home from the cold. Goes to show your mom is one tough cookie and resourceful enough to light her heater.

Your loved!

Thank goodness!!!

My DH talked to our neighbors in Evening Shade and they don't have power or water.  He left a message on the neighbor's cell phone but the tower near his home is out.  Once he got in range of another tower he got the message and called my DH back.

Our yurt is still standing but there are several large trees down across the road to our place so we will have to get someone out to move them before we go up in April.

No biggie - the main thing is your Mom and my friends are safe - the rest can be fixed :-)

Thankfully she's o.k.  I know what a worry that was for you.  Hope she has a nice (and warm) visit to TX.
