Cross Post from Express...Advice?
I posted this on the WLS Express, but thought some might have missed it.
Had a little disturbing episode on Sunday at lunch. Maybe some nursies or vets can offer suggestions. The first thing I ate at lunch was a couple of Brussel Sprouts. After about three bites (and I called myself chewing it well) I felt that "hung" sensation. I sat up straight, took a few sips of tea and knew it had to come out! So off to the restroom I went and heaved it all out, or so I thought. Was able to take a few more bites before my pouch area got really hard and started hurting. I boxed up the food and went to the car while Bill was paying. Got there and was overcome by nausea, started heaving and threw up again. I was down for the count in the car and so nauseated I thought I was gonna have to get him to pull over! Managed to eat a couple bites of baked fish about 7:00 last night, but was again feeling a tighness, almost hard area in my pouch area and got really nauseated again. Went to bed and woke up about 2:00 with heartburn from hell!!! haven't had that happen in a long time! Still feel just "not right" this morning. Liquids seem to be going in fine, but I had a couple bites of Toasted English Muffin and got the same nauseating feeling. I'm also very bloated and stomach is making noise like crazy, even before I put a sip in it this morning! I did go to the restroom this morning and looked like there was undigested food in my stool (TMI, sorry) My surgeon is in Dallas, so not sure if one here would see me or not???? Anybody have a suggestion or had anything like this before? Yall know I am over 4 years out, but I did have a stricture at 5 weeks out. It is kinda the same feeling, but not exactly. I feel very lethargic and tired.
I've called 4 Bariatric Surgeons here, no one will see someone elses patient! One wants $1000 upfront and they would see me, another won't take you if you have insurance!!! WTF!!!
I'll be eagerly awating feedback!!

Gina.....maybe you should call your surgeon here in Dallas. Sounds like to me that you may have another stricture. That being said...I wish I could help you out. I never had a stricture myself. Maybe the brussel sprouts irritated your pouch. I think I would continue liquids today and maybe try mushy or soft stuff tomorrow and see how things go. I hope you will be better tomorrow. Prayers being said for you now.

Stay on liquids and call your Doc. He may have a Dr friend near you that will see you. Bariatric Drs do network and it would be easier to get in if his office called or referred you! It sounds like you really irritated your pouch! It can stay that way for a couple of days so stick to your protein drinks and warm fluids. I cant see a stricture this far out but you could have irritated it so much that there is some swelling that may take a couple of days to go away! Yes I have had these episodes and they have taken a couple of days to settle down. Hope you feel better soon.
