Yes, Jimi will be in Kindergarten before I know it and it scares me!!!!
But now that he's old enough to see me studying all the time-I'm working on my Masters, maybe he'll understand that is part of school and will embrace it when the time comes.

JESS---sooooooooo good to "see" you again!!!! Having to courage to come back here when everything is not "fairy farts and rainbows: is a TOUGH thing to do-and you DID it-which proves you are tough and can do ANYTHING-including getting a grip on the carb monster, etc.
Different things work for different people. I totally understand your pain of having others in the house..but.you know what? Jimi doesn't NEED junk food either. I kept buying CRAP, thinking my boys NEEDED it...and come to find out..when MAMA stopped eating it...it stayed in the cabinet. At one point inmy now 8 year post op journey I had regained 70 lbs (I admitted to 60). Please do not let this happen to you. Stop it NOW.
What TRULY helped me get my BRAIN straight was "Plateau Buster" plan and the "5 day pouch test"-esp the former. at first. They just gave me a new "set point".."a fresh beginning"...whatever..whatever...lol...I don't care...it HELPED..BUT..I could NEVER have done it without SUPPORT. I hope you are able to go to Ikea this weekend, and continue to post here and share what's going on-it REALLY helps.

We Can Do Hard Things
Yeah, I buy stuff out of convenience. We are constantly on the go and I just can't see myself having time to cook a decent dinner so I buy all the easy stuff to fix for Jimi and then find myself eating it too.
It's hard to deny your child the junk food when I was denied myself as a kid...that whole mentality of give him what I didn't have growing up...
I will definitely start the 5 day pouch test and plateau buster. I am almost curious if the plateau one would be better to start with. Truly test myself...

How to break a plateau
#1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau
#2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day
#3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day
#4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day
beef
pork
chicken
turkey
lamb
fish
eggs
low fat cheese
cottage cheese
plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?)
peanut butter
beans/legumes
You may also have:
sugar free popsicles
tea or coffee
sugar free soda
sugar free jello
broths/bullion (sp?)
crystal light drinks
#5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!!
#6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily
Hope this helps...I lost 11 lbs. in 10 days sticking faithfully to it! It does work.
