Meggie...Huntsville has a SBUX sitting right on 45 as you get into Huntsville...I think the 45@Hwy 30 exit...will say Bryan-College Station to right and Livingston to the left.  It is on the right side where you will be on the south side of the intersection.

Meggie, I'm with you.  I love those 100 calories SF snack bars.  My favorite is Chocolategranola, Clay's is the cinnamon.  I hope we stop too cuz we're out of them and you're absolutely right, you can't find them anywhere.  If you plan on 5.5 hours, you will have MORE than enough time.

it is the cinnamon, OMG soo good so are they on 45? Will that be the road I need to take for RS and buckees and where is Buckees, do I jus****ch for a sign? I promised Ken I would stop. There is also so deli in hHouston in a strip center that is a TRUE NY style deli that serves kash varnishkas, knishes and amasing pastrami and corned beef. It was featured on Diners Drive In and Dives. As a treat I was going to bring some home for Ken!

When we lived in Baltimore we had a kosher style deli in DC that had all these things and they are jewish comfort food and wonderful!! Of coure I am an episcopalean( i know thats not spelled right but it is late and I am tired) and Ken was raised Mormon, but to us the best comfort food comes from a jewish kosher deli!!

Meggie, take I-45 to Corsicana where you'll see the sign for Russell Stover's. (It will be on your left)  It's kinda across from that stupid Sonic where I locked myself INSIDE the bathroom.  The Buc*ees will have a MILLION billboards along 45 to tell you which exit to take.  It is also on the left hand side of the freeway in Madisonville.  If you want some KILLER BBQ and homemade stuff like NSA jams/jellies etc, go to Woody's in Centerville (exit 164) in a shell gas station on the left.  They are known as the "Jerky Capital of the World"~can you tell that my road trips are all about the stops, lol?

Hey Megs!

When you go to the deli let me know. I will either send money or tag along (provided its ok for either one...lol). I have been to NYC a bunch and its never a trip without stopping at Kat's deli. (It was the infamous scene of When Harry Met Sally- where she "fakes it") I've been to tons of deli's in NYC, including Carnegie, but NONE compare to Kat's. The closest pastrami I have found here in Texas is at Central Market.

I know Westheimer has lots of Jewish culture but I never thought about a REAL deli.

Being pregnant is not good for cravings and I am craving  real pastrami now....oy vey! lol

See you Friday!!!

We are in so much trouble!! The Deli is down the street from the hotel!!  kenny & Ziggys at2327 post Oak Blvd!!!! I plan on going there Sunday. I am going to see if my Cousin Kay will meet me there!! Have e-mailed the deli to ask them some questions and warn them we will be stopping by!! They were on Diners drive Ins and Dives and looked fabulous! They do have a website, just google them,

Knishes, kasha and pastrami Oh my!!! Or should I say oh vey!! I miss our deli we ran in DC best hoagies you ever ate made to order. We got our bread fresh every morning from the bakery in Baltimore. Our meat, cheese, knishes and kasha trucked in from Philadelphia 2-3 times a week!! I hand chopped at least 150lbs of chicken salad a week!!

We also had an array of 24hr diners with the most amazing menus you have ever seen all around the Dc Baltimore corridor!!! Believe it or not I maintained my weight back then, I was obese but not super morbidly obese like I became when I moved back to Texas!!

Tracey, and anyone else is welcome to follow me there but I am hoping to Meet up with my Cousin kay. Her Mom was my favorite of my 6 great aunts!! She is I think 15 years older than me and we haven't seen each other in probably 10+ years! Yall would love her!!!!

Meggie.  If you are going through Bryan and getting SBUX you will not be going through Corsicana to go to Russell Stovers since it's on Hwy 45.  If you're coming through Waco via Bryan, then you'll hit Huntsville and get on 45.  You'll miss Buccees too.  You'll have to go to Dallas and get on 45 to get to the places you want to go other than SBUX in Bryan.
