I have been trying to drastically cut down my carbs because . . . well, I am a CARB ADDICT!
I am finding that I am ravenous a couple of hours after meals. I do need to plan ahead for snacks.
Do you get hungry after a protein-rich meal? How do you handle it?
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

No, not usually hungry after a protein rich meal. Do you drink when you start getting hungry, especially since we need a lot of liquids? It will help fill you up. Drink instead of eating. It won't cure head hunger. I guess only a therapist can do that, but it will help get rid of hunger pangs.

my carb cravings come with my monthly cycle generally, so I give into them a little bit. After that, I do like carla said and drink more. If that still doesn't work, than I toss a scoop of protien powder in my drink and find a something physical to do outdoors (away from food/kithen). Doesn't take me long to immerse myself in a project of some sort and then my cravings are forgotten.
The more carbs I eat, the hungrier I am. If I eat SOLID protein (chicken breast, steak, etc) I stay full much longer. I definately plan my snacks into my daily food plan-I leave nothing to chance cuz otherwise, I just grab something that my HEAD tells me to eat. Keep some protein bars, jerky, single serving of nuts, etc handy-like in your purse. I keep a "snack basket" at home with acceptable snacks-already divided into 100-150 calorie packs so I can grab ONE as needed. Plus try some SF/FF pudding. It takes 5 minutes to make and is so good. I pour chocolate and banana in the same cup and it's awesome.

I need to get a stockpile of protein bars and nuts to keep here at the office. I don't have a problem much at home - it's mostly here during the day because I don't have the time or access to fix something to eat. Seems like I am most likely to get hungry 3-4 hours after breakfast and a couple of hours after lunch.

Actually, I think thast is fairly typical to get hungry 3-4 hours after breakfast amd 2-3 after lunch - at least it is for me.
By 10:00 (3 hours after I have had my cottage cheese for breakfast) I am ready for a snack. I keep protein bars, peanuts, cheese sticks, etc on hand at work or sometimes just nibble on the leftovers I brought for lunch since they are usually high protein.
