Any Austin support groups anywhere??

Hi guys.  I'm planning on having WLS in May.  Are there any Austin support groups for pre-op and post-op people?

 There definatly are !   There is the Round Rock group that meets at Seton RR Tuesday night.  Third tuesday of the month at like 6:30 I believe.  

There is one that meets at Seton Austin off 38th, but not sure exactly when or what time. 

There is a group that meets at Ikea on one Saturday a month.  Will look up and reply again as I sent the info to another group .

They also do bariatric cooking classes at Seton as well :

They try to cook food we can eat that is similar to our favorite foods.  

 There is also a group that meet at Ikea on the 3rd Saturdays and mingle and walk the store. Kind of like Mall Walkers.  Here is their OH Community :

 Also, your surgeon's office should have information on the support groups they have.  I was with SW Bariatrics and thats how I knew about the ones at Seton.  A friend who went with Dr. Ganta who is not with SWW Bariatrics also goes to the same groups, or knows about them at least.  

Wow!  Thank you so much for all of this info.  I will definitely look all of these up.  I definitely need a bigger support group.  I too am with SW Bariatric Surgeons.  My surgeon is Dr. Faulkenberry.  Again, thank you thank you!

Wow Ben, you have gotten around really well for someone who was just lurking lately.  Glad to see you are willing to be so helpful. :)

I still post mainly in the RNY and Men forums, but I have to come to the Texas forums and help when I can !   Specially the Locals :D
