New here
My name is Denise and I am new here.
I live in Abilene and I just wanted to intorduce myself. I have to get ready for work soon so this will be kind of short., but let me tell you all a little about myself first.
I am 31 and almost 3 years ago I had the lap-band surgery. I have lost 106 pounds and I am stalled. I am just looking for ideas and support, and if nothing else just some people I would be able to speak to who know what I am going through, and I just dont mean people that have had WLS, but others out there who are wanting to loose weight and live a healthy lifestyle.
I can't wait to get to know you all!!!
This use to be a very active board but in the last year it has gone dry. You may want to go to the Lap Band Board. It is very active and so are some of the other MB's here on OH. Usually most only post in the AM and occasionally some in the evenings. Good luck on breaking your stall.

VIVIAN-please do not discourage people from posting on the TMB. We are doing our best to re-energize it. We still have the train every day, Paige's Daily Plate, etc. and always welcome new faces. We'd LOVE for YOU to bring your grateful post and motivational quotes HERE!!
The TMB will only "dry up" if we, the Texans, allow it to. I've been here as long as the TMB has existed. I'm not going anywhere. Life duties certainly take priority over posting, many days, but my heart and spirit are always here.

Denise I am sorry if you took what I said wrong. Trust me that is not my intentions at all. TMB is a good board....just not very active and there isn't very many lap banders on here....only 2 or 3. I apologize for any miss understandings Gina.....I truly didn't mean it that way.

VIVIAN-no problem at all. I guess I'm just too "uber-sensitive" about the TMB, as it is my "home base", and I feel protective toward it. While, yes, it has certainly "evolved" over the years, and may never become the hot bed of activity it once was, I DO hope it can still serve a useful purpose. Many of us met RIGHT HERE, and I want others to get the opportunities we got. Any board is only as strong as it's members.
I was serious when I said I wish you would post your daily threads here. Please at least think about it.

Hi DENISE!! Welcome to OH and to the TMB!!! Thank you for giving info about yourself, right up front. I'll do the same, FOR YOU. I'm Gina..53..9 yrs post RNY..didn't reach "goal" until recently....very familiar with stalls/regains/re-losing/the whole gamit.
This is truly a JOURNEY, and no two people have exactly the same experience, but we all have common dreams/goals/etc and can always be here to support each other.
My BFF has had her band for several years. she lost over 100 lbs, then got unfilled toward the end of her pregnancy (our Blake is 4 months old now). I think she has only had one refill so far. I'll hollar at Tracey today and get her to chime in. Paige is another very successful bandster on the TMB.
On the TMB we couldn't care less what "type" surgery you had-or if you even HAD surgery-we care about YOU/your struggles/your good times-the "woohoos"/and especially your HEALTH!
The best way to get to know everyone is to post on the daily "train"-the TMB Express-it's like walking into the local br, where everyone knows your name-you'll feel like family in no time!!

I am and RNYer and am almost 4yrs out. Total loss 200lbs and have been at goal for almost 2 1/2 yrs! I am the poster child for complications but still believe this was the best decision in my life (besides my hubby) and would do it again in a heartbeat!
If you make it to Ft Worth, we have a support group that meets every other Sat a t Central Market (intersection of I30 and Hulen) at 9:30 every other Saturday! Sometime ther are 2, sometimes 20 people. Looks like we are going to have a good size group on the 18th and we would love to have you join us!! We also have dinners and other events so continue to check in and see what is going on!
