Revision

I have a friend that has had gastric bypass and a lapband. Everything she eats she throws up. The only thing she can eat is the soft bad stuff.  She has United HMO and needs a Dr. Does anyone have any ideas for her? Thank you

 I take it that she probably had her lap band first....then the bypass.    I would say she needs to call her bariatric surgeon and tell them what is going on.   Lots of things cause cause you to throw up.   Gall bladder for one.    I would say her first step would be to contact her surgeon and get checked out.   Prayers going out for your friend.

Hi Vivian, How was Dr. Kim? ??I have heard nice things about him. I'm going to Anderson, but he dosen't take United HMO

 Dr. Kim is a AMAZING surgeon.   He really cares very much for ALL of his patients.    We have awesome support groups and a great support system.   He is doing revisions.....so you might have her give him a call if she hasn't decided 110 % on another surgeon.  His number is 817-581-6100.  Is  United Healthcare her insurance company??  If so Dr. Kim takes it....that is what I have.   I know that she wouldn't be sorry if she used Dr. Kim.   He has also removed my gall bladder and did hernia repair ( at 10 PM  no less ) on me last summer.    Good luck to your friend and PLEASE keep us updated on her progress !!!! you say she needs a Dr. Cant offer any doc suggestions if we dont know where you are!

it might be a problem to find a doc who will take other bariatric patients. Try Dr Barker, I know lots of people who are very happy with him, as they are Dr Kim.She might check the listings of Docs here on OH! Good luck to her!

 Dr. Harry Meyers did my revision and I know he has a lot of revision patients.  He has an office at Medical City Dallas and Texas Health Plano.  I'm not sure about the United HMO, but it might be worth checking out.  He also has a partner, Dr. Wiltze that is on different insurances, so that might be an option as well.
