Feeling Old
Im not sure what brought this on..but I just feel so old right now.
Is this me having 2nd thoughts? I dont know....wondering if Im just too damn old for this. I feel like it. Wondering if its worth it at this point in my life.
I know I will feel better tomorrow....at least I hope so.
I just hate being 40 yrs old. I miss being young with a long life ahead of me.
Why didnt I do this many yrs ago? I know some of you feel that same way, so I dont feel too alone.
Lisa, chin up chicken. Look at it this way, this surgery will be the start of the best part of your life!! Your going to be amazed at how great you feel - you will be better than you have ever been. Everyone has the right to the occasional flat day but it won't be long and the big day will be here. Hang in there xoxo Mel
Lisa,
Sometimes I feel like you do, is it worth it to do this now. I wish i would have done this earlier, who knows, maybe I would have had the confidence to pursue my fashion career. (You don't see many fat designers out there). Then I realize how much younger i feel now after shedding some weight and know it's been worth it! At 36 yrs old, I feel like I'm 23!! ( I weigh as much as I did back then!!) I look in the mirror and say "Dang I look good"!!! So don't double think it, you too will be so much happier!
Went through the exact same feelings except i'm 57. Why not enjoy and feel good for the rest of your life. Do you have pain from your weight? Do your joints hurt? Are you sad because of your weight? Are there things you want to do that you can't now? My answers were yes to all and I decided just to go for it. I backed out and cancelled once but now I'm ready to go. I'm on day 2 of liquids.
You can do this and I know it is going to be so worth it for both of us. Chin up you are not old and there is a lot of life in you just waiting to get out.
thank you. I know u are right..
and I did answer yes to all those questions and even more..
I want to feel good for the rest of my life..and to see my daughter grow up
good luck on ur pre-op..and surgery...u dont have long to wait at all...I know u are anxious..
I cant wait to hear how it goes for u..
Lisa baby, in my eyes you are young. The old saying,
"you're only as young as you feel" will come true for
you as soon as you lose some of the weight. You will
kinda be reborn as the weight comes off. But honey,
you need to try to look at or think about all the good
things you will have with the surgery - instead of all the
negitive thoughts you have been having. Make a list of
the things you want to change in your life that WLS
will give you. Things like - I want to climb stairs, walk
in the woods, buy clothes in reg. stores, fit in seats at
the movie, sit in a booth, take a cruise, go to a theme park,
play with my children or grandchildren, soak in a tub,
in general just feel good in my own skin(even if there is
some excess skin left-LOL). You get the idea? Now go
start a list and before you know it you will be marking off
all the things you want as things you have accomplished.
Rose
PS: If I can do this at 63 when you can certainly do it
at the ripe young age of 40.
