What's a scoop?

After looking at several protein powder containers, it seems they all suggest one or two scoops to be added to whatever mix you're using.  My question is 'What's a scoop?'  They don't seem to have a measuring device in the containers, so is a scoop a half cup, two teaspoons, or what?  All answers appreciated.

All the ones I've ever bought had a scoop inside the container and I couldn't begin to guess, since I don't know what brands you are using and have checked. If there is no scoop inside, I would call the company's customer service line and ask (or check their website, if they have one).

Why can't my inner fashionista and my inner feminist just get along? Ros-mari

Most scoops are down in the bottom, due to settling when they were shipped.  I take a long knife and sort of fi**** out.

I lost the scoop to one of the big bags of protein powder I had (EAS Premium Protein Blend) so I used the other scoop, and this is what it is for that brand anyway:  a scoop was 1/4 cup. The protein powder should have information in the nutritional info section.  My bag says "serving size:  2 scoops (35 gr)" but grams are a weight measurement and cups are a volume measurement, so I guess there is no way to tell unless you HAVE the scoop to measure with.  So in my case I wrote 2 scoops = 1/2 cup in marker on the bag in case I lost the scoop again!!!

I'm OVERWEIGHT at last!!!  The scale moved!!

Thanks for the responses.  You were right, I dug down into the powder in the opaque plastic bottle, and sure enough there was the scoop.  Put it down to me being a man and not checking before I called for help.

LOL hey dont worry, I thot the same thing when I recently opened my bag of protein powder....I then started digging for it...but for awhile, I was really aggravated thinking I would have no idea how much a sccop was...im sure there have been mistakes and the scoop has been left out...they should give the actual measurement on all containers for this reason.
