Thanks for the reply guys (and gals)!  I really appreciate what you've said.  I guess at first I was a little disappointed.  I don't like getting something that I haven't read up on.  I'm feeling better about this.  I see that it does have it's advantages.  I guess it was mainly the "surprise".  But you're right about the hunger.  I haven't really gotten hungry (there are times that I "craved" something, but that was mental).  Thanks again, I'll try to post a bit while I'm on sick leave (but the way I feel now, I could go back to work next week, so I'll use the rest as a vacation).  As of yet, I haven't felt "full" yet (I guess it's too soon after surgery), but again, I'm only on liquids now.  I'll see y'all later.

Wow....Im sure that was a surprise.  The VSG is so much easier than the RNY...but I think some of the basics are the same.. the main difference is that we VSG'ers cant eat as much but dont have any malabsorption issues. I was happy about that. I still take vitamins,etc...but in time, we should be able to get everything from the food we eat....if we eat the right kinds of course.. Ask lots of questions, visit our profiles, and visit the VSG faq page which is listed to the left in the blue column....u will find lots of helpful info there.. Welcome to the VSG family!

Pick up some protein bullets to add to your Crystal Light.  32oz bottle, 1 protein bullet, 1 or 2 Crystal Light To Go packets (to your taste) and fill with water.  I also add powdered Benefiber to the mix to help with constipation. Work towards getting min of 70 gr of protein a day. Once you stark you protein shakes you will feel fuller. Welcome to the board.

That's a great idea, I picked up some bullets and have been drinking them straight (it's a little strong).  I like the idea of mixing it with Crystal light packets (I'll remember that).  I also drink the isopure bottles.  I got them at the vitamin shop and they have just as much protein and are a lot easier to drink.  Thanks for the info!

Hi ,

Welcome to the VSG Board. Ditto on what everyone else said about VSG. OH has good information and if you just google vertical sleeve gastrectomy, you will get as much information as there is presently out there which isnt all that much. I had a lapband for 5 years and just had a revision to a sleeve. I dont know how I would feel if I woke up with a different procedure, but if I did, I would have wanted the sleeve. YOu will do great. The RNY diet plan is very similar to the sleeve. My doc provides only one diet plan to all his patients. Eat your protein first, then veggies and if you have any room left (which is not likely) you can eat a spoonful of carbs. GOod luck with your journey!!
