problem with new sleeve, Help?
I had my sleeve done 9/16, but have recurring problems with nausea and vomiting/or regurgitating after only 2 to 3 bites. Surgeon says may have to convert to bypass??? I am using a scopolmine patch, endo is tomorrow but my insurance won't let my surgeon do it...HAP says its gotta be a GI guy in my system.
I'm concerned that this GI doc doesnt' have any experience with sleeves, and that my care is fragmented. My PCP fails to see my concerns, and my surgeon is mad, stating that if anyone does the endoscopy but him he will no longer be my doc, but I will have to follow up from now on with the endo doctor???? He will no longer be my doctor.
I wish you the best...don't let them bully you...

Hello!
I'm sorry to hear you're having so many issues and I hope that they can fix the problem without having to convert so quickly to something you obviously didn't want in the first place. I'm new around here and to VSG in general so I can't help you with suggestions for this particular seemingly surgical complication. People in this forum are really supportive and informed so hopefully someone can help.
Hang in there!
Amy

It just doesn't make sense to me.
I really feel so sorry for you and will be rooting for you!!!
Your insurance wants you with a specialist for YOUR own good. You can call around to "in" network GI docs and see who has experience with vsg tummies.
Your surgon sounds like a whiner. "well if I cant do it then YOU cant come here anymore" That is not right and at this point I would be seriously looking into finding a PCP that will follow you from here on out.
I dont think an GI doc will compramise your care at all. I may be odd girl out on that but this is his/her specialty.
Good luck,
Denise

No good dr would be concerned about a good GI doc checking you out, unless they are worried that they made a mistake.
Please get a secound opinion and go to a good GI doc.
Chances are you just need a little time to heal or bad acid reflux that can be cured with medication, I wouldnt just jump back into surgery for an RNY.
Be your own best protector and do what is right for you.
