Did your hunger ever go away?

I definitely get hungry but it is not that overwhelming NEED for food that it was prior to surgery.  I'm pretty hungry right now, belly growling and all, but it's real hunger and not this feeling that if I don't stuff my face immediately I'm not going to be able to think!

I would say that I get really hungry about every 3 hours.  I had a protein drink this morning and it really only lasted about two hours but unlike before surgery, I haven't been sitting at my desk wishing I could be snacking, or actually snacking.  There is a change in how the hunger actually affects me.  Hope that was at least a little helpful!

Dr Aceves suggested via Gabe I 5 Xs a day and take two ant acids it helped.
After 10 weeks I can say I forget to eat...so hunger does go away.

I eat 5Xs a day and eat a Nexium in the morning and in the evening. Too many carbs will also make you hungry.

I Jen,

I was at a LapSF support group last night and Elina brought up the exact same thing to Dr C.

He felt it had to do with increased "carbs" in her maintenance, Elina seemed content with his answer. You may want to contact her directly to discuss.

So mit-tens maybe keep your carbs below 30 grams per day and see if that helps.

my hunger went away completely for a week. then I felt hunger, but with one sip of broth it went away. I felt "full".

people have very different experiences so I don't know what to tell you except I'll bet you aren't alone.

you are not broken, not needing a smack, keep looking into the acid issue and when you are hungry? get in some protein, very slowly. very very slowly. and listen to your stomach, do NOT think of it as your enemy.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

Heh heh.........its funny that you say the enemy b/c that is EXACTLY how I feel towards it and always have. I will try not to think that way, but its hard to do.  ;)

I have worked at not considering my body, my appetite or food as the enemy. I have had some sucess, but still work on it.

my job is in nursing homes and I frequently meet people who have no appetite, because of extreme age, illness, medications or who knows what. I feel bad for them.

I want to enjoy hunger & food!  and, usually, I do!   before sugery, not so much...
