Yes, I take it too and crushed it. You have to be careful with any extended release pills - they can't be crushed.

Yup, you can request alternative med.  You will be able to return to normal eventually, but it was tough for me for a while.  I surgery in July, NOW i can swallow the mini caltrates.  The regulars are still too big.

I have heard some people use a mini coffee grinder and put it on their food.

I never crushed a single pill.  Not one.  I had no problem taking them at all.  Even in the hospital, they gave me my medication in pill form.

There are NO restrictions on taking any form of medication with the sleeve.

Extended release medications are NOT absorbed in the stomach, they are absorbed in the intestines.  Since our intestines are totally and completely intact, there is absolutely NO VALID REASON NOT TO BE ABLE TO TAKE EXTENDED RELEASE MEDICATIONS.

I neve cease to be amazed at those that try to put RnY restrictions on sleeve patients.
