About how long before your life was back to "normal" post surgery?
About 4 weeks out I was feeling physically fine but I still had burping and gas when eating. Around 6 weeks out that all went away but I struggled with mentally wanting to eat a larger portion that I could handle. After 2 months out I adjusted and now its a part of me. I am 4 months out and feel perfect and have learned the "ins and out" of eating out and being in social situations.
Good Luck and hope this helps.

Pain was gone by day three (still in the hospital).. from about day 3-7 I was sore, but no real pain..
I'm not tracking fluids/water as closely anymore as I got that down pat by day 5.. Carbs/Cals/Protein.. that will be closely tracked until at least goal and very likely well into maintenance.
My sleeve is part of me, I obviously pay close attention to my body now, and how I feel. I am still not on solids, but so far- nothing has bitten me! Everything I've eaten has tasted good and has satisfied me.. I am enjoying this whole process weirdly enough. The current stall at 2 weeks out, maybe not so much, but it was expected and I will weather that too..

I don't worry as much I as used to about getting 100% of my water or protein in every day, but it's always in the back of my mind. I'm sure I'd have faster results if I did though.
It took me a week after surgery to be functioning normal, and 2 weeks before no pain.
At about a month I was able to get in all my water, if i REALLY tried.
The sleeve is a part of me now, at 3 months. If anything, I have to remind myself of what I shouldn't eat, because I can handle almost anything.
I am at the moment taking the approach of living WITH the sleeve, not living FOR the sleeve, meaning, I try my best to be strict, but when I fail, I don't beat myself up.
GOOD LUCK!!

i didnt feel 100% back to normal until just recently, about 4 months out.
i know what i should and shouldnt eat, what agrees with my sleeve, how much is enough or too little. i dont really have to think about it too much. i am finally getting all of my fluids without a struggle and no longer wake up in the night parched.
i would say the sleeve and i are one now, hooray! we had our ups and downs but now its mostly ups.

I am 5 and 1/2 weeks out and I wonder when I will know when enough is enough and not too much. I love to eat. I love the taste of food and it scares me that I am eating too much already. I pray that before long I will come to terms with how little I eat and it will be my life. I am praying for that to come sooner rather than later. I appreciate your question. It's something I wonder about as well.
At about 4 weeks, I was feeling great with no pain. And, it was around the same time or even a bit earlier that I figured out that me sleeve was here to stay. So, while it's not the same (life) as it was ....it's kind of like a "new" normal.
I went to Olive Garden today....the old "normal" was unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks. Today, I managed soup - one bowl. That's my new normal. And, I'm OK with that!
And, the best thing, I'm satisfied!
