Re-******g-tarded Periods
I started having REALLY heavy periods after surgery. I used to go about 3-4 days and it was never really bad bleeding. Since surgery it has been 7-8 days and gushing the whole time. I bled through my pants in 2 hours at work one day. I haven't bled through clothes since middle school. I was like WTH???? I went to my regular doctor two weeks ago and had an ultrasound and they told me I have cysts now. I have an appointment next Friday with the GYN to see what they say. I hope they do something. I can't do this crap. I'm sure your sleeve is fine. Good luck with the other tho!
I've been bleeding almost every day since surgery. Usually it's just spotting. But really I'm ok with it.. The worst part is the cramps. But my surgeon cleared me yesterday to start using motrin again so I'm good. I have PCOS and won't go on hormonal BC if you paid me to so I'll deal. It is only temporary. My surgeon and OB/GYN both say it will probably only be the first 6 months, year at the most. Basically when you're doing the rapid weight loss stuff.
In the same boat here! I have actually had to stay home from work a couple times because there was just nothing to contain it. Soaked thru a Super Plus tampon and super Pad in only 1/2 hour. Talk about stressful! Coming up on 3rd cycle since surgery and praying that it will be better. I have heard that if you are done having kids that ablation is an option. They use a laser to burn off part of the lining of the uterus and this is suppose to greatly reduce bleeding. I just don't want another surgical procedure at this time! Know that you aren't alone in your suffering!

Sorry you're having to go through this. Unfortunately, it's a pretty normal part of having WLS. Hormones are stored in our fat cells and when you rapidly lose weight, the hormones are rapidly released into your system. Unscheduled periods, wild mood swings and depression are the result. Just know it's temporary and you will return to normal again. That having been said, anytime you have concerns about what's happening health wise, you should always talk to your doctor.

Your kidlets didn't break your sleeve playing horsie. You certainly wouldn't bleed from umhem---'there' with a broken sleeve.

OMG Jenn, i've been having the same experience w/this as you & was abt to post then came across yours, haha.. i just had my TOM literally 2 wks ago (was much lighter but 5 days as usual).. then wham! i got spotting just yesterday which turned out to be the full-blown thing again today! i got worried too, thought it might be bleeding somewhere else internally that's going out, but then the same kind of symptoms of the TOM & i calmed down, altho i'm not happy abt it, having to deal w/this more than 1 week a month?? ughh!! like one of the replies above i hope it's due to the hormonal changes w/quick weightloss & we get back to normal cycles soon!
