Ok I am now Sleeved, the operation went fine I weighted 330 at the begining of my liquid diet. I got down to 315 the day of surgery I now weigh 313. My main issue is I can not keep anything down. Water med pill that were chopped up anything. I drink about an ounce of water and with in 5 min I'm throwing it up. No one told me that was going to happen. The Dr told me that was normal and to keep drinking and it will eventually stay down. He said just walk and I will see. Oh well I really hope I made a good decision right now I does not feel good. My surgery date was Tuesday 05/31/2011

welcome... I had my sugery on 3/30/11 and had major issues because I could not hold any liquids down..please for your sake try your best to drink sips and more sips so you don't have other problems... It does get better but you have to be really patient and understand what your body has just went through... Good Luck :-) and you can do it...

Wmhjones-

Congrats on being on the other side.  Sorry about not being able to keep anything done.  I've read on the forum that temperature makes a difference too so you might try room temp or even warm water.  You made the right decision.  Can't wait to pass through the hoops and get my date.  Hang in there and congrats again on being on the losers bench!

I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I had my surgery 3/4/11 and had similar issues. I used the small medicine cups to sip 30cc's at least every 5 or 15 min. depending on how my stomach felt. I had difficulty keeping medication and fluid down so it was hard for the first few weeks but hang in there, it does get better.

Congratulations on your surgery.  The first two weeks are the hardest, after that it gets much better.  walk, sip, rest and repeat.   you'll be so glad that you did this,  just give it a little time  ;o) jeani

Nausea is a very common reaction to anesthesia.  Ask your surgeon for a skinpatch.

I just joined this site today and saw your post.  I wish I had been better prepared.  I was so consumed with living through the operation that I thought I would deal with the changes once I was out and alive.  Those changes were right there waiting for me when I got into the hospital room.  I was warned about nausea and not being able to keep anything down but I experienced very little of that.  What I do have is pain and gas pain as soon as I sip.  I sip a 1/4 t and I am in pain.  So I do feel your pain.  Every complaint I tell the dr, I am told to walk.  Were you prescribed medication for the nausea?  If not get it asap.  I am only a week out and I cry usually everyday and have questioned my decision everyday BUT I am told by too many people for it to be wrong that it gets sooo much better.  That's the only thing that keeps me sane. Good Luck.

As frustrating as it is try and remember every day it does get easier and easier!!! I also had the same problem-I couldnt stand the taste of water- after a few different test runs I realized I can tolerate caffeine free crystal light ice tea-I am able to get all my fluids in- although I still have day's whear I find it difficult. All I can do is my best- in a few weeks when you are physically feeling better- the weight is coming off and you have more energy you will feel alive like u have never felt before!!! It's amazing! You'll get there!Today I went on a 12 mile bike ride...Life is good thanks to my sleeve! :) Hang in there!
