Its not just black and white, good and bad when it comes to food and living a normal life. I'm so happy that you indulged and accounted for it. Its definitely a victory.
We CAN have those things, as long as we account and don't make it an every day type thing.
Congrats

This is so great!  I sometimes have little splurges too, but they are controlled.  I am sure you burned off every single calorie walking around the park.  Yay!  And by the way, I am so jealous you live so close to Disneyland! LOL

I am learning alot about myself, about food, about eating, nutrition, and all that. I am re-learning how to eat, how to move my body.

That's fantastic that you were able to have it and control yourself! I found that for me with my food addiction one bite is too many and a thousand are never enough. You are lucky you don't have that issue! Congrats on your success!

So happy for you! Before the sleeve, I didn't understand people who just stopped partway through a meal, or particularly dessert. For the first time in my life, I feel full and stopping is not an issue. I just do. I have risked ice cream or sorbet a time or two, and, it's fine! I too threw away half a small cone of Dairy Queen. Did not compute. As I told my husband first trip through our local little gourmet market 10 days after the surgery, "I think I see a more subdued relationship with food in my future". And I was right.

"I think I see a more subdued relationship with food in my future".

Omg what a perfect way to put it!  It's exactly the words I have been looking for and describes exactly how it feels and works. I don't even over spend in the market anymore bc I am not constantly thinking of WHEN CAN I EAT THAT?
Love the quote!
