What to have on hand for when you get home?

Get the Unjury chicken soup protein powder.  After awhile, all of the sweet stuff is just too much, and you can add this to chicken broth or other soups to up the protein count.

I slept in my bed from the get-go.  I'm a side-sleeper, and I shifted to my side in the recovery room.  Flipped back and forth (okay, pulled myself from one side to the other like a beached whale) in the hospital bed with no issue.  You MAY have problems, but probably not.

chicken broth, skim milk, gas-x strips, unsweetened coco powder to improve choc drinks, possible some sugar free torani syrups to give different flavors to change taste of protein drinks. no i didn't make and freeze stuff ahead for mushy stage. Mostly had cottage cheese, greek yogurt and scrambled eggs. also i would cook a chicken breast and grind it up in the food processor and have a couple spoons of that in chicken broth. and tuna is good at that phase - can puree it if you need to.  Diane

For me I had a heating pad for my left should pain in addition to what everyone else said.
Lots of stocked bottled water, definitely my clear isopure, scar cream, timer to drink every 15 minutes ( i bought it at Target and it is a double timer)
