Inspired by someone I know in Oklahoma ......and seeing several features on the Oklahoma Burger....

I been wanting to try it out .......I love burgers.....I love grilled onions......can't miss !!!!

Here is my bariatric version of a lunch inspired by a Oklahoma Burger.

4oz. of 80-20 ground beef

Cole Slaw

I ate half the burger and all the slaw.....was just right......and tasty !!!!

A true Okla Burger is firmly on my bucket list !

Ok.....I took a "Mold/Form" cause I wanted to embed the diced onions into the meat and have a very flat contact patch to the skillet. Placed the diced onions inside the form..... than pressed the ground beef on top of it. Slid it off into a hot skillet with Smart Balance Oil.... Seasoned with salt and pepper.

Since the Okla Onion Burger is popular with just Mayo or maybe relish..... I chose to get the mayo from a cole slaw.

Cole slaw

Cabbage
red onions
carrots
mayo to taste
Salt & Pepper

For an Asian Flair.....I'll add some drops of Chili Oil

ok, so my question is when i make my own burgers, i would use egg and seasoning to mix the hamburger into patties.  You didn't do that?

No.......

I don't doubt for one second that your burgers taste great !!!!

But what I believe your describing is more like "Meat Loaf" or "Meat Ball" mix.

Again..... Your burgers sound stepped up !!

I think it would be safe to say that "most common" American hamburgers would be salt and peppered ground beef. Lots of variations on meat to fat ratios.

I lived my life always doctoring up everything I eat.. I thank My Italian family for that.  But if I am going to be successful with the VSG, I need to learn how to cook simplistic and leave the natural tastes of the food that I am cooking...
