Frisco-Bird Nest Beef !!!
I think you could use anything from salt and pepper on up.....
For this one I just used Kikkoman Ponzu sauce for a couple of hours.
Ponzu is a soy sauce citrus mixture....with a little bit of sugar....what ends up in the meat is a trace amount but it helps caramelize the meat when seared.

I've tried the sketti squash before and I couldn't really get a good flavor with it. I'm Italian so pasta with just some red sauce is super boring to me. I think I will try the onion soup flavor tho. Was there a great flavor addition?

OK...the squash.... at first I went down the Italian road..... quick saute in garlic infused olive oil...tryin for an Oglio Olio type faux pasta......didn't work.....got soggy fast! Even tried a deep fry.....won't really work without a dredge and than it kinda defeats the purpose of eating a veggie.
So I tried a blanch in water.....worked kinda good....but was bland....
Than I figured by the squash getting soggy from the oil..... that it was absorbing....so I thought...hmmm flavored water.....tried the Onion Soup.....mixed it a tad on the strong side....cause the blanch is less than a minute....was pretty good....than I added the red pepper flakes....
