Terrified: Feminine Issues after VSG (Biopsy at 9am tomorrow)
Maybe that doesn't help, but dammit, girl, I tried!! I'll be thinking of you and sending healing thoughts!
Oh Jenn, I'm sorry for your scare! I had a uterine biopsy, very last second, just a few months ago and fainted in the office. I never had children and I don't know if that makes any difference....but the pain and shock caused me to pass out cold on the table. I was extremely nauseaus and dizzy for a day afterwards. If possible, go with somebody to drive you home.
I hope everything works out for the better...I'll add you to my prayers tonight.
You may want to ask for a pain killer or anesthetic...I didn't get one, they just announced that they're going for biospy while between my legs and told to "paint like in labor"....I did and then slowly woke up to panicked nurses and a doctor yelling for smelling salts.

You will be ok. Wierd coincidence....my wife had the exact same thing (thickened walls) and she had to go in for the biopsy last Friday. The doc said that they do a lot of these and it is almost always "just to be sure". We are still waiting on results but they certainly gave us the impression that it is a common thing to happen and get checked out.
My wife has had 1 baby (4 years ago) and they said its more common for mothers. The thickness of the uterine wall can also vary quite a bit during your cycle....if they did the ultrasound towards the end....it is definitely going to be thicker because there is more "stuff" in there.
Oh just FYI.....my wife said the biopsy was uncomfortable but not overly painful but they did give her some IV drugs to take the edge off. You may or may not want them. She was sore for about 36 hours afterwards but afterwards felt competely fine after that. Because of the drugs they needed someone to go with her...you probably will need that too (someone to drive you home after). The whole thing took about 45-50 mins.
Sorry if it sounds wierd for a guy talking about this stuff - I just got a crash course on it in the past two weeks myself. You will be fine! Good luck.
I am sorry for to hear about your scarey issue right now. I am also praying for you.
I couldnt imagine what you are going through right now.
I remember when i had my hystrectomy and my periods were off...I had a fibroid the
size of a grapefruit. So I allowed them to take my uterus but I still have my eggs.
I just hope and pray its not cancer. Please drink alkaline water. Cancer cannot live
in alkaline enviroment. all of our water is acid. This wont be a cure, but it will help.
Please keep us posted honey.... I too am worried about you.... like everyone else.
Blessings....

Anyway, we are all thinking of you and pulling for you and hope you will let us know how it goes. And while it may not be much comfort, my mom had uterine cancer at least 20 years ago and has had no reocurrance. But I just have a feeling you don't have it. Diane
I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!
"People spend a lifetime searching for happiness; looking for peace. They chase idle dreams, addictions, religions, even other people, hoping to fill the emptiness that plagues them. The irony is the only place they ever needed to search was within." - Ramona L. Anderson
