So I started liquids 8/2 and had surgery on 8/4. I can't eat even mushy foods til 8/18. The protein shakes are Ok but I'm finding other ways to get in protein like milk, nutritionist approved Protein shots (42g per bottle), protein pudding (mix no-sugar no-fat pudding powder with protein power and milk), and stuff like that. I 'm not really loving broth. I just found out I can have applesause from my nutritionist. Is there anything else I can have that I'm not aware of. Another week and 2 days of this seems like foreverr. I'm such a salt addict and this feels like withdrawl :(

but on a side note I've lost 15.5 pounds since 8/2 (going from 255.5 to 240)  :)

way to go.. I am also on the post op liquids.. and I am finding that some things that used to taste good to me arent tasting so hot anymore. I used to drin****d tea all the time.. now its just ahh..  and there are protein shots out there?  hmmm I need to check in to this.. because when I mix my protein shakes to drink them they get so bubbly that I end up feeling terrible after drinking some of it. I did try the peanut butter in a chocolate shake and it was very yummy until I was full and so bloated feeling from all the air..

I am going to call and see if I can have applesauce.. that sounds very yummy right now..

right now i'm sipping something called "new whey liquid protein" that's only 3.8 fluid ounces and 42 grams of protein. I also orders a sunkist one off of amazon.com. a huge pack of them is $40. i was having a hard time drinking the whole protein shake (bc of it's volume and taste). so i figured mixing it up would help me get it all in. i sent my nutritionist the link for the sunkist shots and she said go for it.

I would buy random soups from the grocery and strain them. You can still taste all the yumminess but not get the chunks. I also made smoothies with seedless fruits (dont use strawberry or other iwth small seeds) and had cheese soups.

sugar free popsicles were my lifesavers back then.  I wasn't even allowed protein shakes until 10 days after surgery :(

I've heard, and went by, if you can suck it through a straw it's a liquid so if you blend the hell out of it I'd say ya. Can you have yogurt?

Greek Yogurt and Cottage Cheese are both high in protein.
