I had Breakstone's Small Curd Cottage Cheese run through the food processor and did great with it.

Are you allowed vegetable juice (like V8)? That's what I used for my salt fix!

We had surgery on the same day so I am also where you are, looking for ideas. One of my favorites so far is that Unjury chicken soup flavor. I tried unflavored protien powder in beef broth and it was not nearly as good. I am thinking perhaps though that if I can mince up some onions until they are essentially a liquid I might try it again and it would be a bit like french onion soup (without the best part).

Besides those I have also done these: mixing unflavored protien powder into activia light yogurt. (A yogurt my NUT recommended to prevent consitipation. And last night, I made sugar free pudding with protien powder for dinner. Yes, it was more like dessert, but haven't we all wanted to skip dinner and just have dessert.

I was on liquids 2 weeks prior to my surgery and have to stay on them for 4 weeks post op. This Monday I get to switch to pureed foods so I've been on liquids for 5 weeks now. I have moments where I was going crazy but the end is in sight. I last chewed food on the 4th of July! Crazy!

My surgeon said that if there are no chunks and it falls off a spoon, it's a liquid. So I blend vanilla protein shakes with bananas or peaches and drink those. I also had my boyfriend make me chicken tortilla soup (chicken, garlic, onions, celery, carrots, salsa and black beans) and he immersion blended it like crazy so it was a broth but there was still substance to it and I ate that with a little bit of light sour cream. Made me feel full and nourished with just about 1/4 - 1/2 cup. Great protein content too. Sugar free popsicles have helped and if I'm really wanting salt I lick the sour cream and onion off a pringle. Seriously. LOL! I have cheated a tad and bought a package of Sprees and every couple of days I suck on one til it is gone so I feel like I got a great treat. Mentally it has kept me from going nuts. We can do this - it will never be as hard as this again I am pretty sure!

I'm soooooo in the same boat.  I'm on full liquids and had surgery on 8/2.  I'm not a big fan of broth, but I bought College Inn Thai Coconut Curry broth and added unflavored protein powder to it while heating it on the stove.  It was creamy and super yummy.  The trick is to constantly stir over medium heat and don't let it get too hot because it will thicken and clump a little.  It satisfied the need for savory for a little while.

i've also been eating plain Greek yogurt and found out today that I can have cream of wheat or oatmeal made with milk and mixed with a scoop of protein powder.

I am jealous of your pudding and applesauce. I am strict LIQUIDS until Tuesday 8/16.  I am amazed at the diet variance according to doctor and nutritionist.  My NUT said NO to the protein shots since they are mainly collagen based and not easily absorbed.....see too many differences.  Unfortunately, once you hit a certain point your body does start to crave things like salt.  I bought some of the campbell's cup of soup varietys for those occasions.  I did add a little Mrs Dash onion and herbs for a more robust flavor.  My recommendation is to find some way to settle that salt craving or it will get worse.

Congrats on the major weight loss.  My post op is tomorrow at 1 pm so I will be posting when I get back.
