Since I checked right into short stay and didn't have to go in though the ER (which I have had to do in the past), I did not have anything but $60 in copays to the doctors I had to have sign off on my surgery and my pre-op visit with my surgeon.

A little over $1200 to the hospital. So far, about $600 to the surgeon, but I'm expecting to get a bill once they've finalized everything with the insurance company.

This has become a little confusing to me.  I have paid a total of about $1100 to surgeon and I am finished with him.  My hospital co-pay is $100.00, but that has nothing to do with the max I can pay out of pocket to hospital.  i was told that my max out of pocket is $2000.00 a year and since I haven't met that amount, I would have to pay the difference.  I don't know if hospital expects me to pay that difference up front along with the $100.00 copay or if they will bill me....guess I need to call the hospital quick because my date is 08.15.11!

This is going to be SO all over the place- from people who self paid well over 10K to me, who had a total out of pocket of ZERO.. Every single insurance is different. I had never heard of your procedure before, but how cool!

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

I have paid $35 each dr visit and I seen her 4 times I think, $225 for all 6 dietary visits, all pre-op labs and stuff were 100% covered, my hospital copay was $250.00.   I had Bluelincs HMO.. no deductible.. no out of pocket.. Oklahoma state issued insurance.
