I am three weeks out... I can eat beef teriyaki, chicken breast, turkey burger, all no problem! (granted, only 1.5-2oz).

I take TINY bites and CHEW really good, but I haven't found anything that I can't tolerate yet!?

Does this mean I'm going to have problems later?  SO many people are struggling with what they can tolerate...

I am almost 6 months out and I have not found anything that I can not tolerate yet. There are things that I don't like, but everything I have eaten I have had no trouble tolerating. I consider myself lucky and hope that my luck holds out!! I have no trouble with dry meat or anything else.

I guess my first question is....are you cleared for beef and chicken a 3 weeks out????

I don't think I was on those till 2 months out???

Eggs and soft fish after 4 or 5 weeks.....

Seems very aggressive....

Yup... I'm cleared for all of it at 2 weeks... I was kinda shocked!  Just keep it moist, little bites, and chew it till it's almost liquid.  I woudn't have tried the beef if the NUT hadn't mentioned it as a better Chinese food choice at the support group...

Crazy, right???  But I have had ZERO ill effects so far!  That's why I worry...

That just plain gives me shivers..........

Sorry..... But that is so wrong on many levels....... (my opinion)

I extended my liquids and mushie stages by an additional week for each.....Doc said fine, longer the better.....

Well.... I don't blame you at all...your doing what your told.....

If it doesn't bother you....that just means you are confident in your medical guidance and you and your surgeon are not afraid of developing a leak and spending 2+ months in the hospital.....

I think Frisco is right that this might not be a great idea. Even if your doctor says go.. I'd hold off.. I'm currently dealing with a leak, (that showed up a few days after I got home from my initial sleeve surgery) and let me tell you how much fun I'm NOT having. Had to be in the hospital with nothing by mouth for over a week. I'm home now but I have 3 drains, a stint in my stomach where the leak is, and as if that weren't a ton of fun, I also have a central line that they've used periodically to give me fluids and take blood. I'll be on liquids for who knows how long, until the leak is resolved. It's frustrating, painful, and scary.

Trust me, anything you can do to avoid a leak, I'd do it!

Hope you have a speedy recovery......and thanks for posting.....

People have to understand that this can happen and there is no quick fix.

From what I understand, letting it heal is much better than being aggressive and making the situation worse.

Hang in there!

They just cut a bunch of your stomach nerves, there is a reason you are not feeling anything, b/c you CAN'T! I think you have good reason to worry, b/c from all my research and reading there is no way at 2 weeks you should be eating any of those things.
