NSV: Tyra Banks and America's Next Top Model
I work in a hospital on a unit that typically has a population of very chronically ill people who frequently are repeat patients and come in year in and year out for "tune-ups." It was on one of these repeat admissions that a patient I've had a very good work relationship with over the last several years tells me this last week:
Patient: Emily, is that you?
Me: Yes, it's really me! You couldn't stay away from the hospital and had to come see me?
Patient: Girl, if I could have stayed away I would have, but you know I love to see you!
Me: Me too... I'm sorry you're back here again. What's up?
Patient: Oh you know, the usual. But I did want to tell you something... I barely recognized you... you've lost ALOT of weight, haven't you?
Me: Yes, I have. I've been working very hard at it.
Patient: Good girl. Now let me make some phone calls... I've got to call miss Tyra Banks because girlfriend, standing in front of me I see America's Next Top Model. Work it, girl!
It was SO cute and I didn't stop smiling the whole rest of the day. :)
