guys I am really struggling here....suggestions please

I cannot do milky things (not even lactose free milky things) All of my protein is milky..and I even got SF carnation instant breakfast with a scoop of powdered milk (I know not the best but I was desperate to get some protein anyway that I could) and drank two sips and was done.

The problem is, it is TOO thick and fills me up in a second and that in turn leaves me sick to my stomach. I know I MUST get protein in...but all of the clear proteins have too strong of a flavor and make me gag immediately.

I WANT to be doing exactly what my doctor wants me to do, but I cannot.

Does anyone have any suggestions of ways to get protein in? Someone told me the UNJURY chicken broth flavored stuff is good, so I am going to order some of this now and try. Anything else?

The clears where too strong for me too, so I would always cut them with water, half and half usually. This helped me get in the protine that I needed and the water! The Unjury is pretty good too.

You might also be taking too big a sip when you do and this could be causing your discomfort, are you doing very small sips (I mean like, it would take you three sips to empty a small medicine cup)? Sometimes it's hard to retrain the brain into small sips and we try to drink like we used to and it just won't work.

I liked the unjury chicken soup mixed in with my own chicken broth. It made it more "chicken soupy" tasting, rather than fake tasting. I also could not drink any shakes or nectars as I cannot digest artificial sweetners. So I added unjuru chicken soup flavor protein to my broth, and to my full liquid soups. When I got to mushies, I mixed it with warm water to a thick liquid and added it to pureed chili, pureed chicken, pureed mashed potato to increase the protein content of things.

Good luck !!!

Unjury chicken is good for a savory protein.. Though it is loaded with sodium.. I'd suggest getting some Nectar unflavored, adding it to your own warm (not hot, just warm-warm) chicken bullion.. Here- order this, from an email I received after asking them about samples..

We are currently offering a one time only, limit one per person special on theNectar ‘Variety Sampler’ containing 13 full serving packets of the following flavors:  Apple Ecstasy, Caribbean Cooler, Crystal Sky, Fuzzy Navel, Lemon Tea, Pink Grapefruit, Roadside Lemonade, Strawberry Kiwi, Twisted Cherry, Chocolate Truffle, Strawberry Mousse, Vanilla Bean Torte and Latte Cappuccino.  The price is $13.00.  The Nectar Variety Sampler receives FREE SHIPPING and orders typically arrive in 2-5 business days via UPS Ground.  If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please give us a call at 866-333-7403 x 801.  Our hours are Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm Central time.

There are a few "milky" flavors which you may want to avoid for the moment, the choc truffle, etc.. but mix them all with water, and try the fruit flavored ones first. Use more water per your tastes and some ice. You can always dilute the clear proteins, I still need to- they are way too strongly flavored. The Nectars seem to go down the easiest still to this day for me, and my fav was the iced tea! But get some unflavored too- and you can add it to whatever beverage you choose, even warm chai tea.. it works well~!

Have you tried isopure zero carb. They are clear and have 40 grams of protein in 20 oz and lots of flavors. I tried different flavors by buying singles at the vitamin shoppe and foubd two that i can tolerate, although they kind of dry my mouth out when i drink them. I jusy got some tomato soup from bariatricpantry.com that is pretty good and has 15 g of prtotein.

Good luc****ep thinking 10 more days until i can have mushies!
