Blood Pressure is 95 over 55. YIKES. Can I stop the drugs now?
I would talk to your PCP as soon as you can. I came off blood pressure medication straight out of the hospital. I wasn't on it right after surgery, and my blood pressure never rose. We monitored it for a couple of months to make sure it didn't go back up and that was that.
Some folks don't take long for certain co-morbidities to disappear, so you may very well be right that it's time to discontinue the meds - in fact we occasionally see folks whose light-headedness is related to continuing to take blood pressure meds too long. I just encourage you to keep the doctor involved in the decision.

I say yes, but I don't really get a vote. Check with the doc in on Monday am. Tke your BP in the morning and if it is that low again you could skip tomorrow's dose and take your bp a few times during the day. Check it again Monday am without the meds and call your doc with all of the numbers and he'll probably take you off bp meds. I stopped mine with the doc's permission last week. The only problem was that it was a combination with a diuretic, so I gained a little weight over the first few days.
I took myself off when I started seeing numbers below 110/70... I monitored it and it stayed around 120/70... I "cleared" it with my PCP a few weeks later at an apt.
I came off pre-op... not sure that makes a difference or anything. I would probably depend a bit on your overall health how much of a DIY approach I would take.

I would be sure to check with my PCP first; some types of BP meds, such as beta blockers that I take, you should not stop abruptly completely, it can cause other complications. I would just keep monitoring and check with my doc, some of the BP meds you should really taper off of kind of slowly, just my experience, but it's best to get that medical opinion. Good luck!!
Definately call your PCP tomorrow, but until then I would stop taking the meds and continue to monitor the B/P. Normal B/P is considered 120/80 and low B/P is anything consistently below 90/60. The concern is that if you are already in the normal zone and you continue to take your meds, that you may bottom out and cause serious problems. Better yet, don't wait until tomorrow. Call your PCP today and have them make a decision. If you can't reach them I would consult with a pharmacist at least. Best of luck.
Wow that is low! Go run around the block or sumthin...NO JUST KIDDIN!!
Ya took it...don't take again till ya check with yer doc. One low won't define ya.
