Horrible night -

Yeah, it wasn't so much WHAT I ate, b/c they actually fit into my daily numbers for carbs and calories, it was more the mindless reaching for something that I KNOW I should not have and that loss of control that really pushed me over the edge and upset me.

I have picked myself up and dusted myself off and I am back in control.

Rome wasnt built in a day! You did not get overweight in a day! Most of us dont lose our bad habits in a day!

Like you said, dust your self off and get back in the saddle.  Try drink extra water if you can to flush the desire for junk out of your system!

Hang in there!

(((HUGS)))  Please try not to beat yourself up.  Remember - failure isn't falling down, it's not getting up again.

Thank you, I really needed to hear that this morning. I have picked myself back up, and I am back on track this morning. It's not going to be an easy day, but it's going to be easier than yesterday!

Thanks! It was really kind of an amazing feeling to stop halfway to my mouth with that handful of carmel corn and think about it before eating it, and realize that I was making a bad decision. I can't remember any other time in my life that I was able to do that! I guess I really AM changing LOL

Well one bad evening isn't going to do too much damage. Just look forward, not backward. Be super vigilent with your food journal and have protein snacks ready and convenient. When I craved something sweet during weight loss phase, the answer was grapes. They are so sweet and low calorie and are filling. I ate some tonight and always keep them around as they are available year round. Some people eat them frozen. A good choice for a sweet tooth.

So don't punish yourself which only leads to guilt and more eating. Just start over and do better. I know you can.  Diane

Thanks for the suggestion! I always have grapes around for the kids. I usually don't have that bad a sweet tooth (I am a bulk eater, not a sweet eater), but my monthly friend showed up last night and that combined with some emotional turmoil and I was a goner. At least now I am able to sit back and see what was wrong and why I did what I did, it didn't help at the moment, but it sure is a big help now!

RIGHT ON BABYGIRL!!

Here is the BEAUTIFUL thing about your experience.

ITS EXPERIENCE!!  Its not just theory. You do not have to work out in your head "what will this do, how will this work, should I, or should not I?"

You have full carnal knowledge, yea?  Yea.

Know this too, *for me* there are some things that do not trigger me if I am on firm foundation - but are HELLS TO THE NO items when I am off kilter.  This may be the same for you, and on another day the Buddy Bites might not do the same thing.  Or they might, but my point is - for some things you might find your trigger response a floating target, not a static one.

*squeeze*

See how much you learn about you!  See how much you did not just say "screw this" and end up naked in the corner covered with caramel corn and crying with your husband being all flirty (because you were naked, covered with caramel corn!!)

A good protein snack and a nap is what you need and tomorrow will be a bit different.  And I ditto the above posters about the white knuckle days afterwards.  But again - you remind yourself

THIS IS EXPERIENCE!!  You can choose to have it again or not, but you got it now baby!
