How do you handle unexpected delays/food emergencies?
I also keep protein bars in my purse- bought several brands at GNC before a long car trip and my sister and I tasted them all together. We both liked detour carmel and peanut best. Try your own taste test, but look at carbs and protein. Some are low in protein and high in carbs. The more protein, the longer they'll hold you over.
When I was on moist foods- I kept a jar of the Gerber Chicken Sticks with me for - just in case.
It's junior babyfood but- hey it's got 10g of protein and one stick perked me up enough to get home thru a major traffic jam.
My Docor said sometimes if you eat a bit more than you realize that standing up might help to feel better but I suspect that only helps if its just a little much and not as much as you ate - poor thing.
Aww you could try it- see if it helps tho.
Hope you feel better.

I keep smoked almonds in my car.

I take things with me every where i go lol. I keep protein bars, string cheese, and almonds. I also found these "turkey bites" namebrand is Old Wisconsin at Walmart in the checkout line. They are like bites of slim jim but made of turkey. 6 bites are 80 calories, 7g protein and less than 1 carb. Sometimes just 3 satisfies me.
Thanks, every one! I finally started to feel better after an hour, and back to normal within 2 hours. I will definitely be watching the times I eat and keeping emergency snacks on hand. I think, too, after this I will try to not panic. When I panic, I let my pre-surgery brain take over my post-surgery knowledge and eat too much too quickly.
