What a jerk! I can tell you for a fact that you can have burning pain and it NOT be because you overeat. I had it at first and it would hurt when I swallowed my own spit! How in Hell can that be eating too much! LOL!
Anyway, my dr. wasn't such a douche and told me to take Prilosec. After about a week it got better. I still take it.
At least he is giving you a swallow test. That should show any reflux. Good luck and smack your dr upside the head for me!

If I see your ticker right, you have lost 48 pounds. That would tell me that you are doing what you are suppose to.
I am in the situation where I can eat much more than 2 ounces so have to measure everything to keep from overeating. For me, I don't know I've overeaten until it is too late, so measuring has become my safety net.
Talk to the nutritionist, if you are getting in your water and keeping your food in the categories they want, what else do they want from you? Working ou****er and eating right. Those are my main objectives in life right now....everything else comes second.
You are doing great, having some questions and problems with your tummy, so of course you should be able to ask your doctor anything and get a respectful and professional response.
Keep you in my prayers, feel better soon.

for everyone and your support, it mean's so much to me. Oh and one more thing I always found odd he's got some weight on himself I'm not saying he's fat but he does have a belly whether it's from beer or what ev and a lil bit of a double chin. KInda made me ??? him as a surgeon doing bariatrics but of course I'm not gonna hold weight against anyone and he surely didn't act this way before except once when I told him I wanted lapband before they even started doing sleeve at that office and I didn't know much bout VSG then. He said I am always right and you will fail with lapband and will not lose your weight. I thought then that was harsh but going through the process and seeing all the complications and issues with band I understood his position on that. So I had an appt. for my 3 mon labs but he pushed the appt. to Jan. 2012 guess he doesnt want to see me. I'll be getting my labs in NOv. and the office said if anything is wrong they will call me. Now I wish I choose his partner. She is much more empathetic and listening to your concerns. RAMBLING AGAIN UGHHHH LOL I

I love OH and the wonderful support I dont kow what I would do without all the amazing information, people and support. Kerry
OK, here is a thought, maybe you are eating too much for your sleeve right now. I went to a support group last night and my doctor told another patient that the "heartburn"she was feeling was most likely due to the fact that she was eating too much or too fast. He does prescribe PPIs for right after surgery, but he said that most of the time, the heartburn really is not caused by the same things that caused heartburn before surgery. He also said that the PPIs still make it better because they help to reduce the inflammation. So here is my thought, why don't you try to eat pre-measured 1.5 oz. of protein for a week or two and see if it helps, and take a PPI at the same time. Maybe a combination of both approaches will help the most.
I know I am not addressing your doctors bedside manner, but my guess is that others will have already helped with that and you are probably somewhat over it. Good luck with reducing the symptoms.

I am sorry you hurt and that your doctor is a first-class a-hole! Your surgery was five days after mine and it sounds like you are doing everything properly including the 2oz of food per sitting - that's what my doctor and nutritionist have prescribed even if I cannot always finish that much depending on what I'm eating. It also sounds like you have a major case of reflux for which he should have prescribed something to begin immediately upon returning home - mine did.
Never shut up about how you feel! I know there are plenty of doctors out there that have seriously flawed bed-side manners, but we do not have to shut up and take it! Sometimes they don't realize how they make us feel until we speak up for ourselves.
Perhaps you should visit your PCP and discuss a reflux medication to get you on the road to feeling better quickly. Keep you head up!

I have heartburn sometimes when i drink water. It has nothing to do with eating too much (at least not for me). I have a surgeon's appointment today and if he gives me any S*** he's going to land up in the emergency room. I'm not in the mood for anyone telling me I'm eating too much (i can eat 4 ounces at a time) or not losing fast enough.
