Cant stop the loss..... Vet advice please

Need advice from some vets...
So I was eating cupcakes and able to maintain my weight and all was right with the world... best method???? PROBABLY NOT... I started having reactions to the sugar so I had to give up the cupcake loving... other than a bite or two here and there. While doing that I was at 140-143 and felt like it was a nice lil safe zone.

Now that I am no longer eating cupcakes I am down to 136.  I do have a sort of fasination with seeing the numbers on my scale change ... its kind of a rush but I really like where my body is now and Ive bought a lot of pants that will not fit If I lose more than 2 or 3 more pounds. What methods have you used to stop your loss. I pretty much eat high protein foods and still do a shake a day. I do eat high fat foods already, Ill eat a childs size cheeseburger at least once a week. I have chips and cheese for lunch here and there and pretty much eat whatever I want... the thing is nothing is too tempting so its pretty easy to eat well but I do indulge in something if I really want it. I dont like avacodo I say that becasue I see that suggested often but what can/should I do so I stop losing or should I just keep going until I'm itty bitty?

Jenn,

I'm so NOT a vet, but I am a VET at gaining weight.  Carbs!  Don't over do it of course, but maybe incorporating a pasta dish a week.  IDK, just a suggestion.  The smell of carbs makes me...used to make me gain. Good luck!

Jenn, you look amazing and you re doing really great.  Don't worry.  1.  Your body has a magnificent way of determing a healthy weight for you and stopping your weight loss on ts own.  I too was concerned with mine stopping and it did, at 162 for me.  And it stays within 3-4 pounds of that for two years now.  You will not waste away.  :)

If you feel irritable, and run down, make sure you are drinking protein (I still drinkl 3 servings a day), and taking all of your supplements, including iron and sublingual B12.  I take 2500mcg of B12 and it works great FOR ME!  :)

Foods I eat to add calories when I am starving...  I eat cashews (honey roasted from CVS).  I also eat CVS's oatmeal cookies at $1 a pack.  They have lots of fiber.  Do I recommend this for everyone, certainly not!  But if you are at goal and need to add calories to maintain, then it works for me!  I prefer oatmeal cookies to emptier calories such as cakes and I really don't want to go back to that kind of carb addiction.  And I am not suggesting you will!

Best,

Chris

I swear...THAT is the best picture ever on this site..great eye candy...just plain hot... Just sayin..great job..keep the profile pic for all the singles out there...and us marrieds just for fun :)

JC, I don't have that problem yet and can't see that happening for me:)
You could kick the can my way of how you are keeping your loss going...whether you want to or not. I am doing fine but definitely want to lose 10-15 more lbs although most are saying I have lost enough. I just have to stick with the plan constantly so that my mind does not lose focus. I don't want to make the mistake of falling off the cliff you know.

This might not be the answer you want, but if I recall you are 5'3 or 5'4 ?  You might not be at your true goal weight yet; I'm 5'4 and weigh 126 and still could lose about 5 or 6 lbs.  I wonder if your body is telling you that you are not done yet.

This same question has been posted on the maintenance board more than a few times and here is what some vets have done.  They have added 100 to 200 calories a day of higher fat foods...peanut butter comes to mind and nuts.  They must log their foods still to know they are adding those amounts of calories.  My body just stopped when I started adding almonds and a few more carby foods every day.  So, in order for me to lose more I would have to go back on my 800 - 1000 calorie plan.

This probably didn't help, but I wonder if your body is doing what it wants.

My thought as well!  :)  Our bodies are amazing at figuring out how to avoid losing too much!

Maybe you aren't done yet?  I've never been skinny or a regular weight since I was four years old so I am setting a goal.....but I really don't know what my body might want to stabilize at.

Maybe your body is just searching for its "correct" weight and its not always what we might think it is or want.

I can't really comment on the keeping weight on advice....I eat a cheeseburger and gain four pounds.  I really like the advice above though....adding stuff like nuts and other high fat snacks might help.

do more of you PB  and cheese  those are very calorie dense...cookies are no different than cupcakes......in fact you can get more cals with less carbs...the frosting is high fat!  I would NOT suggest either!   do more healthy fats....nuts....nut butters....cook in or use olive oil.......eat more  full fat cheese?   eat more 5 guy's with a sleeve buddy!

JIMBO...  350lbs! lost!.....  TRIPLE CENTURY CLUB!!  HELL ...YEAH!
