I am pretty sure of the answer, but figured I would toss it out there to see what others have to say about it. I feel like crap (and so do the kids, so its a lovely combination of whiny mess + cranky mommy over here, I should probably post warning signs on the doors).

Bummer :(  I know how you're feeling... I just got over a crummy 3 week cold.

I was able to take everything I took before- Nyquil, pseudaphed, aspirin, etc.  What I noticed is that the Nyquil REALLY knocked me out quick!!  I probably could have taken less than the normal dosage.

That is good to know about the Nyquil, I have a two year old who still gets up at least once every night and it would not do for me to be dead to the world! Thanks for the heads up!

One of the joys of this surgery is that the answer is: whatever you took before once your stomach has healed which yours has had 3 months to do. 3 months was the magic window at my surgeon's office where most anything that was a no-no for medical reasons no longer was.

Congrats on waiting exactly 3 months after your surgery to get sick.

OK, perhaps instead condolences on having sick kids when you're feeling bad yourself. That sucks. Are all of them sick?

Feel better soon.

I got sick with a nasty cold virus three or so weeks ago and took everything I'd taken before (and then some!). I stuck with cough drops though you may want to be careful not to take too many as the sugar alcohols can give diarrhea. I also took dayquil capsules and acetaminophen and/or ibuprofen for achiness.

Also, I hear chicken soup works wonders and is right on plan!

Good luck feelings better soon!

Oh, forgot to mention that I took cough drops.  I would have up to 6 on some days, and didn't get any weird side effects...

I just got sick the first time since surgery myself....last week was rough, still a little sick now, but on antibiotics. In fact, just like you kids sick also, and my hubby too.....such fun. hahaha

So, like others have said...I've taken the stuff that I did pre-op...for nite always Nitequil, only thing that lets me sleep. Also advil or tyelonol in the day...and had to have Halls Cherry cough drops...also tried some mucinex (that liquid stuff is the worst tasting thing ever IMO)
I've not reduced my dosage on anything....

I didn't eat that much the first few days when it was the worst...just chicken soups and water....at least the lying all day and night in bed didn't hurt my weight loss, since the eating was minimal too.
