My PCP and NUT told me that I wasn't getting enough calories

...and i'm going into starvation mode. My metabolism will begin to taper off to until slowed to a steady pace that can manage my calorie consumption. Don't know how to up the calories. I've been tracking on myfitnesspa.l and they say i'm eating too few calories and add Zumba 5 x week. What do I do?

Give me some low carb high calorie options. That I can get down with this extreme restriction!

Easy ones are real butter, real mayo, avocado, nuts, peanut butter.  Think FAT - a little bit extra can give you an easy rise in calories.

I was told this too and since my weight loss had been crap for 3 months i finally decided to take it.  i simply added another meal although my people were fine with me adding shakes and i did add one shake and 4 meals.  my weight loss has gotten better.  for the first 4 days i did it i lost 2lb a day and that 8lb was exactly what I'd lost in the 6 weeks before and the 6 before that.  i have a shake in the morning and then i eat every 3 hours.

You didnt really give us an idea of what/how much you are eating.

My PCP thinks im crazy for eating 800 calories, but she does not have a weight management/bariatric back ground, so her advice/thoughts on the issue really dont have much bearing on what I do.  Sane kind of thing with myfitnesspal - its not geared for bariatric patients (mine says to eat 2100 calories hahaha)

Most plans call for 6-800 calories. If you are eating less than that, definitely try and increase, but if you are within that range, you will be fine. Yes, our metabolisms make take a  little bit of a hit, but it comes with the territory.

You can also slow down your exercise rate.  You are REALLY hitting that hard, and that burns up your available calories awfully fast, which contributes to your being in "starvation mode".

Long term, you will be a LOT better off with a slower and steadier pace.  Listen to your doc and your nutritionist, they actually DO know what they are doing.

Yeah I have been sticking to about 500 calories and just hit the 2 month mark and my 2nd month kinda sucked at 11 pounds lost. I increased my calories the last few days and the weight is coming off fast again. My coworkers told me to get out of the starvation mode so I probably ate an extra 200 calories yesterday and lost a pound lol doesn't make sense. Bacon works but high in fat and salt but I love it.

Anyways when your body goes into starvation mode, your body stops losing weight and holding onto that last bit of fuel because it doesn't know when you will feed it again. Once your body gets use to the little bit extra it is like 'ok she is going to feed me' and it starts getting rid of the fat again. This is what my coworkers told me and it is working the last few days. Weird but I really have to pu**** to eat that much but I added in another protein drink as soon as I get home from work.
