How many calories should I have?
I seem to bounce around. I am almost 10 weeks out. Down 51 lbs since surgurey. Some days are 680, some are up to 980. Rarely over that. Am I getting enough? I hear to schools of thought about this. It is really hard to get in more calories. Remeber I am a 6'1" male and we need more calories than females....Maybe some of the guys can check in? I never get a straight answer from my NUT.....
If I were you, I would talk to Frisco and Jimbo, but since they have the same doctor as I do and we go to the same support groups, I will take a stab at your question. I believe you should be eating from 600-800 calories until goal. Stay under 40 g. of carbs and over 80 g. of protein. What this means is that almost all of your calories should be coming from lean protein. Have some green veggies and as few carbs as you can. I hope this helps, but you might still want to talk to Frisco and Jimbo.
I'm in the same boat w/you and I listen to my body in regards to that. On average I'm about 650 but some days I can be as high as 1,000. I learned that when I'm weak and trying to workout 2+ hours those are the days I aim for higher carbs & cals. Otherwise, I keep it at 650-800, less than 20-30 grams of fat and 50 or less grams of carbs.
I would definitely ask Frisco and the other person mentioned in a earlier post. I hope this helps :o).
I try to stay around 800-900 calories/day. 80g protein/day and under 40 carbs. Anything less than 800 calories or 80g protein and I feel completely wiped out. Also, drink drink drink your water!
I'm 6' male, so I would think that our nutrtional needs are similar.
Have you started lifting weights yet? If you have, it is SUPER imperative that you get that protein in.
