A kind of century moment...
I posted a few pictures here recently, and one of them was a collage from 2003-2005. In 2003 and 2004, I hit my all-time high of 293 pounds. I went back to OA in 2004, lost 60 pounds and then regained 40 before I went to my surgery consult. Today I'm at 193 pounds.
I'm not claiming a century card yet or anything, but this morning I am reveling in the moment. I am sitting in my TV room listening to NPR in my black leggings waiting to go to Pilates. I am crossing my legs (in either direction!) and wondering what new thing I'll be able to do in class this time. I have to run to Sears for more laundry detergent right after class, and I won't be too embarrassed to run into the store still in my leggings.
Yesterday, I sat down on the floor cross-legged and loved on my dog. I can run up and *down* the stairs without my knees killing me or having to stop and catch my breath. We made plane reservations for vacation at the end of the month and I didn't have high anxiety about ending up in a middle seat.
Nobody understands like you guys. I'm the last person to say surgery is for everybody, but if you're at the end of the line, and willing to relearn your relationship with food, it can be a lifesaver. THANK YOU!!!!
