Ok, now you know me, I don't pull any punches so I am going to be flat out honest with you on the hunger issue. If I ate fruit or those quest protein bars I would be a ravenous beast, period, end of story. I think Brandilyn called it "hungry birdy face", and that is what those things would trigger in me, pretty much running around yelling "FEED ME" and grabbing food away from my kids and running away with it. It would not be pretty, at all.  The Quest bars are a total trigger food for me, and the only thing I would be able to think about after eating them would be how to get MORE carbs (and chocolate) into my mouth.

Let's look at what you ate and what would have been a better choice then the fruit and yogurt (which = 280 cals, 3 g fat, 57 carbs, 6 g protein). For 200 cals, 8 carbs and 21g protein you could have had the 6 piece chicken nugget, which is dense protein that would have kept your belly full longer. For 180 cals, 11 carbs and 23 grams of protein you could have had the char-grilled chicken salad. Also, the char-grilled chicken by itself with no bun or pickles is 100 cals, 21 grams protein and I think 1 carb and is 3.2 ozs usually. I could go on, but I think you get the point LOL

Also, on the calcium, you DO need to be taking it at a different time then your multiy b/c no matter what form you are taking it in it can reduce the amount of iron you absorb from other forms b/c the body can not do both at the same time.

Very good video though, you where very honest and very thorough, I know anyone doing their research would find your information invaluable!

No no don't pull any punches :)  Yeah I know some people have said that the quest bars make them hungry.  I just got them so trying them out.  Funny about you grabbing food from the kids LOL!

Yes I get the point :)  I'm scared of chicken nuggets ever since I ate those chicken tenders a week or two ago and got sick.  The other things I certainly could have tried.

As far as the NUT said and the drug reps that sold me the Nutrametrix vitamins at our classes, you can just mix all them together in one glass and drink it all up.  I mix the multivitamin with the calcium, add the water to make it Isotonic, then drink it down.  That's what they said at my class.  It supposedly doesn't interact with iron like your saying because it is already isotonic, which is the point of this brand of vitamins.  It doesn't have to metabolize it for your body to use it and its quickly absorbed.  I'm just going along with what the nutritionist and the drug reps that sold it to me said in class.  /shrug.

Thanks for the advice on the food!  Still learning what to eat and what not to!

i agree about probably trying to keep ur carbs a little lower to curb ur appetite, but , hey... still yogurt and fruit and a handful of pretzels and a protein bar is still a hell of alot better than a footlong sub and a bag of dorritos with some chips n dip on the side! LOL... it's a learning experience and u did good!

Our NUT class the rep told us the same thing about the calcium (prob the same rep, since we're in the same surgical group :-)) and I was planning to just double check tomm at my pre op mtg... so I will let u know... but she deff said u mix th eMVI with iron and the 3 caps of Ca in and take it all at once and ur done for the day in our class!

Thanks for posting! Once I can start eating, I would rather get down a protein bar than a shake! Is it ok to do a protein bar instead of a shake!
