I am very happy to report that my VSG went well. The only bad part was waking up very dizzy and nauseous. This went on for the first few hours. They gave me something for the dizziness and that straightened out first. Then they gave me a shot in my hip and within a few minutes the nausea went away. Even though I didn't get much sleep I did doze here and there and only had to stay the one night.

The nurses at CMC-NE were super nice and helpful. I had no problem walking 2 hrs after surgery and the next morning I was up and walking the halls again. When I left the hospital I could take in 2 oz. of protein shake and 2 oz. of water. Now that I'm home at each meal I drink my protein over a period of a few hrs. 4 oz. at a time. Then in between I sip on other approved liquids.

I'll be on liquids for 2 weeks and I don't see that as hard to do. I'm having a little pain at the one spot where he said he pulled out the old stomach and still have 5 staples there at that incision, all the other 5 have no pain. For some reason the top part of my inner thighs are sore and so is my neck and shoulders. I'm sure that will get better with time.

I'm just so happy to be on the Loser's Bench and hope to make great progress!

YAY! Yes, keep walking and breathing! Half the battle is that dang gas and sleepy meds making all kinds of painful things happen!
I am so incredibly happy for you and I am looking forward to seeing you kick booty on goal after goal. I will be joining you in a few weeks and you are going to continue to do GREAT!

Grats on being a loser!!!!!!!

Glad to hear your progressing well! I'm just starting to feel among the living again. This surgery kicked my butt! I have never been so exhausted after a surgery before, but as they say every day things get better
