Feels like FATE!
VSG on 01/25/12
I hope some of you remember that I had my surgery in Toronto, Canada on January 25th, 2012! I went in originally to have the RNY with the VSG signed off as the go to surgery if for some reason they couldn't perform the RNY. I ended up having the VSG because they discovered a congenital intestinal condition that prevented me from having the RNY.
I was pretty emotional and pretty convinced that the VSG was not the right surgery for me (mostly because I had no researched it and the gold standard in Canada is the RNY)....
But I am happy to say that the VSG is working wonders for me!
I am not even 3 months out yet and down 75 pounds today! I still have another 120 or so that I'd love to lose but I really feel sooo happy to see the progress thus far. I have had some hiccups and slip ups a long the way but nothing too frightening or terrible....Just sort of doing a little gratitude post today!

You must permanently change your lifestyle if you want your weight loss to be permanent. You can do it!
Good for you!! I had the rny almost 6 yrs ago- about 2 years out my blood sugar started dropping drastically! Fought that battle for almost 4 yrs. and just had a revision to a vsg on 3/28/12! I can say my recovery from this recent surgery was MUCH easier than my original rny- even taking into consideration I had to be "pieced" back together to have the sleeve done. Granted, the problem I developed occurs in less than 1% of rny cases, but trust me, if it's you it SUCKS!! I think the vsg is a much better option from my research now. Congrats to you! Continued success!
