My personal therapy

In my world, my therapist is a really big, organic tomato plant.

It's time for my therapy.
I have a 1 acre organic garden that I couldn't eat last year because of surgery....
Lost all that I had in the freezer to a week long power outage.

This year?,... watch out, I'm on a roll.

Life is not all about weight loss...it's about life!

The pansies just add color and pretty smell to the food in the garden LOL

Oh yeah, additional info. Start the seeds indoors with a good seed starting dirt about 6 weeks before you are going to put them in the ground. Put a light (fluorescent) when they sprout, 3 inches above the plant. Move it up as they grow. Promotes photosynthesis (a good thing)and prevents them from getting leggy (growing too long in the stem before the leaves develop making them too top heavy).

then a week before you put them outside, put them outside in the shade. Then plant them in the garden and watch up take off.

Yup!
Use a weed blocker material around the plants. It keeps the soil warm and weeds at bay. If you don't want to spend the money on that then use newspaper.
Cover either one of those with hay/grass clippings or wood chips.
Use a fish based food twice during the growing season it's some stinky stuff but tomatoes love it.
Use a cone shaped support instead of just a post. It's a lot better and puts less stress on the plant.
When it's time to harvest and store...get back to me LOL

I love my garden

I bought 3 plants! So I don't have to worry about the germination part. They've been hanging out inside recovering from shipping and are ready to go in the ground tomorrow! Do they need full sun or partial?

better put them outside in the shade for a couple days, still in the shipping pots with a good watering. Then plant them in the ground in full sun.

All this talk of putting things in the ground is killing me! I have to wait till mid May or risk losing my stuff to a late freeze!

Just started the seeds for broccoli, spinach, lettuce and tomatos in my little indoor greenhouse.....tick tock (sigh)
