Hi everyone, on my second week of pre-op and I cheated today. My good friend took me to my favorite food place to celebrate my upcoming surgery-bad choice I know, but I have to tell you as I was eating my tacos, refried beans and rice, it was like a memoral to the food I love so much. Anybody else experience that???

I did the same kind of thing on my pre-op diet. Just get back up on the horse and keep going. Don't stress yourself about it. Just keep going.

Gotta drop the "cheating" mentality.  There is no reason you can't have a taco, refried beans, etc after a sleeve (after appropriate healing / weight loss of course).

It's not a good bye to everything.  Just much more limited amounts.

I'm not trying to jump on your case or anything. I'm just a little confused. Why would you celebrate your surgery by going out to eat at your favorite resturant during your pre-op diet? That's just asking for it.

I did all my celebrating prior to the start of my pre-op diet. Which consisted of a very chocolatey piece of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory among other favorite things!!  Once a year I allow myself a slice of cheesecake on my birthday. But this time since my surgery was like 5 days after my birthday I got it early.

Anyway, what's done is done. I hope you enjoyed it and will now get back on track.

Hugs and Blessings!!

No worries it happens we all make mistakes and slip a little...but guess what?  You gotta get back up and try again.  That's what it's about...never giving up.  Even post op it happens but you just keep trying.  I'm a super grouch on my preop diet.  I haven't lost anything in four days   I'm so afraid they will think I cheated and won't give me my surgery.  I've only lost 10 pounds and I'm on day 0.

You are NOT alone. I slipped up on day 7 by having a thin slice of cheese pizza and last night (day 8) ate about 1/2lb of steamed shrimp & snow crab legs for dinner. As a result I have gained a pound back of the 13.8 I lost in the first week. That was my reality check. I plan on doubling up on my water to flub my system and get back on track. My goal was to loose 20 by my surgery date which is this Tues. If I don't mess up I believe I can accomplish that goal.

It's ok that we slipped up as long as we now how to get back on track!!!!
