Does anybody have a decent recipe for a low calorie vegetable dip?  I stupidly bought the full fat one and while I have been good about getting my veggies in, I haven't been good on calories.  I'm trying to keep my calories under 2000 a day and I can usually do it, but I don't often eat my fruits and veggies like my dietitian wants me too, so I decided to work on that.

The only thing I can think of is Greek yogurt and ranch dressing mix.

Hi, Trying going to the website, "theworldaccordingtoeggface".  She has plenty of wls recipes that you will find helpful.  You are on the right track with the greek yogurt.  You will be getting some good protein in with fewer calories.  Good luck with it.  I know I'll be treating Michelle's recipes like they are printed on gold leaf.  If we can learn to take our favorite recipes and recreate them to healthier ones and use portion control, we should be okay.  We need to stay within the wls guidelines.

I like Greek yogurt and onion soup mix, and for fruit I use greek yogurt with a little sugar free syrup mixed in.

Pretty sure she hasn't... no date for her surgery... I'm gonna guess (and hope!) pre-op...

Also TOTALLY gonna try the greek yogurt dip ideas :-)  Thanks!

If you haven't had surgery yet which I don't think you have then this might work, I use the light sour cream 35 cal a serving and mix in the McCormick perfect pinch I do the Vegetable seasoning one but they have others the nutritional info for the seasoning is Calories:0 Fat:0g Cholesterol: 0mg Protein: 0g Sodium: 130mg Carbohydrates: 0g Fiber: 0g. I mix it in the sour cream and then dip cucumber in it. Oh and I use the simply light sour cream here are the nutriton info for that 35 cal for 2tbsp total fat 2 carbs 3g sugar 3g protien 2g

I mix Light Sour Cream with unjury chicken soup powder. its like 25 cals for 1/4 cup plus you get additional protein, i think its 6g of protein. If i want that ranch taste ill mix uncle dans ranch powder with low fat cottage cheese and blend.

I make dip with greek yogurt and Knorr's Vegetable Soup mix.  I don't know how many calories it has, but it does help with getting in the protein.

If you are pre-op and more concerned about calories than protein, you can also mix it with a low-fat or non-fat sour cream.  It tastes good mixed in just about anything.

EDIT:  I just looked at the numbers and the dip has fewer calories AND more protein when made with the greek yogurt.  With the low-fat Chobani, an entire 16 ounce container of dip (the yogurt + the soup mix) has 466 calories, 9 grams fat, and 45 grams protein.  So a two-tablespoon serving should have approximately 31 calores, half a gram of fat, and almost 3 grams of protein.  Not too bad!  No wonder I love that stuff!
