The little things I've learned in 6 weeks
-People will support you, if you let them
-ASK FOR HELP-I love breakfast at a little cafe around the corner but I told the owner I can only eat a small size plate. He now makes sure I get the protein I need in a smaller portion at less cost.
-THINK THINK THINK about the wardrobe thing. It happens VERY fast. I've passed my clothes to my sister but, it's hard to give up clothing YOU paid good money for.
-WHERE DID MY BOOBS GO??? Make sure you realize, you'll have to buy bras and panties too.
-DON'T wait until you're starving hungry to eat. Yes, there's head hunger but if you wait until you're really starving hungry, you'll eat too fast and you'll eat the wrong things just to appease the hungry.
-CHEW CHEW CHEW. The best thing you can do is chew your food thoroughly.
-Every food is not for you. I used to love bugers so I thought hamburger would be a good food for me. Ah, hell no. I can't eat ground beef, steak, whatthehellever. I'm a turkey/chicken girl. (Some people can't eat chicken or turkey-find what works for YOU).
-I spent my own money to get this surgery, I'm not wasting $10K+ on a bad day. Regardless of whether you paid or you paid your insurance premium, don't waste your money on one bite that isn't going to support your journey.
-YOU WILL CHANGE. Not just physically. You'll change emotionally. You'll pass the mirror and think, "Who's that?" Do what you have to do get your body and mind in sync. Therapy is a good start but it's really about learning how to be the new you with the old you at the core. The good person you are, never goes away. The animal lover, the cook, the shy reader, that's still your core person. Add to you but still be you.
-Slow weight gain is as good as quick weight gain. LOSING IS LOSING WHICH IS WINNING!!
-THIS IS YOUR JOURNEY, IT'S ABOUT YOU. OWN IT.
-There are GREAT people on this site willing to help you.
-Oh, and what bikechick said is sooo true, a fart isn't always a fart so be prepared. I always have wipes-in the car, in bathroom, anywhere I go ;)
-I still can't figure out how to change my weight on this silly site but, it's going down down down.
HUGS TO ALL!
