A funny from Mom
So last night I talked my mom's ear off about the surgery and everything. This morning she emails me:
I am curious about what happened, physically, to the 2/3ds of the stomach that was removed??? The whole procedure is fascinating.
I told her that most likely the newly free part of my stomach probably went into a bio-hazard bag and got incinerated with the rest of the hospital body parts that evening.
Mom is a hoot!

They send out the 2/3rds they removed to pathology to check it for any abnormalities. I'm pretty grateful that they do as they found a tumor in mine and called to let me know about it about 2 weeks (i think) after the surgery. Thankfully, it was a benign tumor but left undiscovered I would have been dealing with stomach cancer in about 5 to 7 years.
Barbara W. if you haven't heard anything about it then most likely they didn't find anything exciting to tell you about
