Very interesting ...... I've been wondering this same sort of thing.

Q1: No I shared about my lapband years ago.

I am undecided about sharing my sleeve since I'm in the reasearch stage.
I can say I am NOT sharing w/my boss due to her fat phobia & comments.

1. Not sure yet. I'm only 3 weeks out and the only people that know are my mom, my husband, and my oldest son (because he stayed with me in the hospital). I don't know what I'd tell anyone else. I didn't tell anyone about the band, and I don't regret that at all. I would've felt horrible if someone got a lapband on my recommendation anyway. 

But to make my answer really long, I think I will tell people who I see on a daily basis in my small, gossipy town because they are going to talk anyway. Plus, I would hate to constantly be dodging questions and feeling like a liar. However, for people I see less often who have always been hateful and judgemental (like my family and "friends" I grew up with) well...I wouldn't so much mind if they never knew I needed surgery to lose the weight.
