HIP HIP HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CALLED MY SURGEONS OFFICE AND THEY HAD NOT YET RECIEVED IT SO I EMAILED IT TO THEM AND THEY WILL REVIEW IT WITH THE DOCTORS. SHE SAID OH BOY WE ARE GOING TO START GETTING CALLS. I SAID I WAS THE FIRST TO CALL.........................

So did you personally get approval or is it that Medical just agreed to cover the sleeve? Has Medicare not covered any WLS before now? I'm guessing this is good news for a lot of folks with Medicare.

Medicare has covered the band, RNY Gastric Bypass and BPDS. I had the Lap Band and had problems it had be taken out and I have been waiting for the Sleeve to be approved. Medicare does not give approval, you just have to meet their guidelines. Which I do............ and my secondary by law has to abide by what Medicare covers...

Yup Medicare is covering it. Here is the Memo from CMS! This is big not just for people with Medicare but everyone. Most medical policies will mirror Medicare!!! Woo Hoo!!! I'm glad they changed that from just doing it for medical studies.
